You can find the complete payout structure for a specific tournament by visiting the “Tournament Lobby”. You’ll find the prize pool, number of places paid, and how much players stand to win in the upper left-hand area of the poker client. Most tournaments pay 12% to 16% of the field. For more details, just open the client, pick your tournament, and hit the Prize Structure tab. They are less common online and in casinos which prefer a more even structure. The general rule of most poker tournament payout percentages and the easiest to follow is that 1 st place is awarded 50% of the prize pool, 2 nd place is awarded 30% and 3 rd place is awarded 20%. This is pretty simple to follow and does not require a chart. Poker Tournament Prize Pool Structure. Poker Payout?
Payout is the prize paid out to the winning player/players at the end of the poker tournament.

However, a tournaments can be a winner-take-all game if the host has set it to be. In such a tournament, as the name implies, the last standing person would win all of the prize pool.
Following is a chart of typical poker tournament payout structure. The prize section is in percentage format. It represents a certain percentage of the money in the pot (the money taken from all the tournament entrants):

Making a Deal:
Another way to pay the players out is if the last two/couple players decide that they want to split the money among themselves in a different order other the one set before the game. Players can change the payout however they want. However, everyone must agree before it can be done. There ar different ways to do this. Following are the most common ways:
