The 2018 Men’s Lacrosse champions aren’t resting on their laurels. They’re back, and they are hungry for more celebration. Matt Gaudet converted more than 44% of his shot attempts, although youcould easily argue that Jackson Morrill is their most important player.

Jackson, the son of Mike Morrill — a recent inductee into the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame — was one of seven Division I Men’s Lacrosse players to average more than five points per game.

The Towson Tigers went 11-4 and clinched a berth into the lacrosse tournament by virtue of winning the Colonial Athletic Association conference. Timmy Monahan and Brody McLean are going to be keyfactors in their game versus Maryland, and Grant Maloof and Luke Fromert need to be consistent.

But anyone who watches Towson Lacrosse play knows that Shawn Nadelen’s team can only go as far as Brendan Sunday takes them. The senior attacker led the Tigers in both goals (45) and assists(24).

Notre Dame went 8-6 overall, including a disappointing 1-4 mark on the road. They got trounced by Virginia in the ACC tournament and need to rally right now if they plan on beating Johns Hopkinson Sunday.

Bryan Costabile will need to be firing on all cylinders, and Matt Schmidt needs to do a better job of protecting the net. Look for Brendan Gleason and Connor Morin to step up in a big way.Otherwise, the Fighting Irish’s season could come to a screeching halt over the weekend.

Talk about a 1-2 punch. Perhaps only Penn State’s Mac O’Keefe and Grant Ament can hold a candle to the spectacular duo that Charley Toomey has at his disposal.

Kevin Lindley was second in the country in goals scored (57), and Pat Spencer finished third in the nation in total points scored. Throw in Chase Scanlan and the 40 goals he registered, and youare looking at possibly the most gifted trio among the whole bracket.

Last year, it was Yale defeating Duke in a classic 13-11game, earning the Bulldogs their first lacrosse title since 1883. Yale has a tough road ahead of them if they plan on repeating as NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Tournament champs, but we have seen a teamgo “back-to-back” before.
